Legendary comedienne Phyllis Diller died Monday morning (August 20) in her Los Angeles home at the age of 95. Country stars were among the many celebrities who paid respects to her life and career using their social media platforms. Billy Ray Cyrus and Reba McEntire were the first to share their thoughts.

"Gonna miss Phyllis Diller. Rest in peace my friend. The world is a better place because of you. Happy Trails," McEntire posted on Twitter.

Shortly after, Cyrus added a simple and sweet message. "R. I. P. Phyllis Diller. Thanks for all the laughs," he said.

Diller began a radio career in 1952, the precursor to joining a television series called 'Phyllis Dillis, the Homely Friendmaker.' She was later a regular on 'Laugh-In' before kicking off her own television show on ABC in 1966. In her later years, Diller was a guest on 'The Muppet Show' and 'The Drew Carey Show.'

Diller earned a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in 1993. In 1999, she suffered a heart attack and had been living with a pacemaker since. TMZ reports that Diller had recently fallen, but it's not believed to have contributed to her death.
