‘Police Chase’ Involving Randy Houser Ends in an Unexpected Way [Watch]

Social media reports of a police chase involving a black Pontiac and “We Went” singer Randy Houser started popping up on Thursday afternoon (March 10). The realistic scene showed cops chasing the car from the singer’s most recent music video through downtown Nashville, Music Row and across a bridge connecting Nashville’s east side to downtown.

Thankfully — and at first glance, curiously — no one was arrested. Nashville’s Metro Police Department were in on the filming of a video that ended with Houser making a nice donation to the Second Harvest Food Bank of Middle Tennessee at a church on 3rd Ave. Later that night, he played songs from his Fired Up album for media at that same church.

News of suspicious activity began to circulate after 12PM CT on Thursday. Various country music writers and personalities broke news of the chase, later honing in on the fact that the car involved was Houser’s car in his Bonnie and Clyde-style music video.

The Tennessean reports that it was a controlled chase. Video shows that it was every bit as dramatic as Houser’s music video, but this time it involved two good causes: the March 11 release of Houser’s fourth studio album Fired Up and a donation to the Food Bank.

Houser previously told Taste of Country that driving that car was a highlight of making the “We Went” music video, and fans can expect more dramatic videos for future singles. He doesn’t enjoy making videos any other way, he says, so he’s happy to commit extra resources to keeping his sanity, and his fans happy.
