Randy Travis stepped out in public -- a rarity since his 2013 stroke -- for his friend Dolly Parton's concert.

Travis took a trip to Thackerville, Okla. to see his friend, the country legend. Judging by photos, it seems Travis couldn't have been happier to step out in honor of Parton and she felt the same. During her concert, she took a few minutes to pay her respects to Travis.

"There are some people you just love and admire for their talents. Tonight, one of those people are here," she said about her friend. "Randy Travis, wherever you are, I hope you are enjoying the show."

After Parton was finished with the show, Travis went backstage to say hello to his friend after her special shout-out. She expressed her appreciation for his appearance at the show. "It was so great to have Randy at my show," Parton said on Twitter. Later she added that he was doing well.

This was one of the few times Travis has stepped out in the public since he suffered the stroke in July 2013. He had brain surgery before stabilizing and being released to a physical therapy center. Travis' impact on country music was evident following his health scare when country stars reached out to wish him well.
