Yesterday's Super Bowl gave Americans across the country reason to party, but longtime country star Randy Travis carried the festivities on until very early this morning, apparently. Travis was arrested at 1:30 a.m. Monday morning in Sanger, Texas because police noticed his odd behavior and arrested him on a charge of suspicion of public intoxication.

“A report of a suspicious vehicle was called in to Sanger police," Tom Reedy of the Denton County Sheriffs Department told NBC 5 Dallas-Forth Worth. "Police go to investigate and find him smelling like alcohol and [he] had an open bottle of wine. He was arrested in front of a Sanger Baptist Church.”

Travis, who owns a ranch home in the nearby town of Tioga, Texas, was released from the county jail several hours later -- after he had time to sober up a bit. Still, he was slapped with a Class C misdemeanor for his conduct. And this is, unfortunately, not the first time Travis has battled with substance abuse.

The star, who dealt with drinking problems when he was younger, collapsed mid-performance in September at the Huguley Memorial Center's 18th annual Crystal Heart Gala. Though publicists attributed the reaction to allergy medication and dehydration, that has never been confirmed. This month, the seven-time Grammy Award winner will embark on his 25th Anniversary Celebration Tour.
