Randy Travis is alert and smiling, although he may be having mobility issues following the stroke he suffered last summer. A photo taken recently shows Travis in what appears to be a wheelchair with fiancee Mary Beougher and two others behind him.

It’s not clear who the blonde woman is, but the young man looks like Beougher’s son, Raleigh. The source of the picture is not clear, but it has since been published by various media with a wide range of details. According to Nashville Gab, Maurizio is a family friend of Travis'.

Singer Bonnie Paul has been offering Randy Travis health updates on her Twitter page. She co-wrote a song called ‘Childhood Sweethearts’ with the country singer and appears to have a good relationship with him.

“Just spoke 2 my mom, Randy is making great strides, no longer in wheel chair , walking with walker, appetite great, looking great,” she wrote on Dec. 9.

On Dec. 20, she tweeted: “Great Xmas news 4 y'all , my mom was actually talking with Randy on phone , sounds strong and wonderful and walking on his own…..”

Paul's updates would date the photo of the singer in a wheelchair, unless he still uses it periodically. A photo of him in a golf cart (seen below) was reportedly taken over the weekend.

Travis suffered a stroke in July and has reportedly been struggling with his health since. However, the country icon released a new album -- ‘Influence Vol. 1: The Man I Am’ -- in October.
