As each week of competition on 'The Voice' has passed, it seems like country coach Blake Shelton and his last remaining contestant, Jermaine Paul, have grown closer. On Monday, the competition started to wind down, but Paul and Shelton weren't ready to throw in the towel just yet. The two put on a powerful rendition of 'Soul Man,' complete with backup singers and Paul's lead vocals, which put the other hopefuls to shame. The performance was so spot-on that country's biggest stars came out of the woodwork to advocate for Team Blake, despite the fact that Paul isn't even a country artist.

Before the penultimate episode of 'The Voice's' second season aired, legendary country queen Reba McEntire turned to Twitter to garner votes for her fellow ACM Awards host and his keep, writing, "Be sure to tune in to The Voice tonite and vote for Jermaine Paul." Dozens of her followers obeyed, tweeting back that they had cast their vote for the country star and his soulful contestant.

Then, after the episode concluded, 'Drunk on You' hitmaker Luke Bryan made a push of his own. "Hey yall, go vote for @Jermainepaul on the voice and help out my fellow country boy @blakeshelton #TeamBlake," he tweeted. Plenty of his 400,000 followers responded to confirm that they would cast their votes for Jermaine Paul, as well.

Tonight (May 8), the speculation will finally end, as one of the remaining performers takes home the grand prize -- a recording contract -- on 'The Voice' season finale. Paul is up against rocker Juliet Simms, opera singer Chris Mann and former Mousketeer Tony Lucca, but after the final votes are cast, only one of these talented contenders will remain.

Regardless of the outcome of the season's finale, Blake Shelton and Jermaine Paul can rest easy knowing that they gave the competition everything they had, and surely some record execs will notice the effort.
