Sara Evans joined Rascal Flatts for the first couple months of this year for their Thaw Out 2012 Winter Tour, along with opening act Hunter Hayes. The tour made a successful run and wrapped Feb. 18 in New Jersey. And while the most of the excitement may be over, Evans still has much to be excited about. As a thank you for a tour well done, Rascal Flatts gave their female co-star a gift to help her thaw out, and from Evans' reaction on Twitter, the surprise present was much appreciated.

"Rascal Flatts gave me a JEEP today as a gift from the tour! A crimson Alabama Jeep! I am in shock! They are SO sweet!" Evans tweeted Wednesday (Feb. 22) with a photo of her by the new wheels. Later, she tweeted a photo of her with the whole band and the new Jeep, simply saying, "Another pic of us and the jeep!"

While a new car is a pretty generous gift by anyone's standards, it's not a complete shock coming from the trio that so quickly give to causes that move them. The band, who were just honored with the 2012 Humanitarian Award at the annual Country Radio Seminar this week, have gone to great lengths to help with a number of charitable causes.

The band has donated $3 million to the Monroe Carell Jr Children's Hospital at Vanderbilt's Pediatric Surgery Center, which even led to the center being renamed in their honor in 2010. This year, they're starting an effort to raise money for the neonatal center of that hospital because, in the words of Gary LeVox, "You know, it's the only thing, medically, that they just have no clue on why children are born premature. So we’re going to do what we can to help try to find out and see if we can’t just be a small part of trying to change history a little bit.”

Perhaps buying a Jeep for a friend after a tour isn't a charitable cause by definition, but doesn't it just speak to the very nature of who these guys are? We're impressed to say the least, and we're pretty sure Evans was too.
