Reba McEntire is looking out for her fellow Oklahomans. The singer made a generous donation to the Regional Food Bank of Oklahoma after she learned about the organization's Food for Kids program, which aims to provide healthy food choices to school children.

According to The Oklahoman, McEntire's sizeable donation will provide over 200,000 meals for needy Oklahoma residents or for 2,3000 families for a week. In truly classy fashion that kept the focus on that she gave, rather than how much she gave, McEntire elected not to reveal the amount of her donation and she did not want to make a comment about the amount via her PR rep.

However, Rodney Bivens, the executive director of the Regional Food Bank, did issue a statement about Reba's offering and how positively it will effect the community, saying, "We are thankful for this generous donation from Reba McEntire. No child should ever have to go to bed with the pains of hunger in their stomach."

Hunger has developed into a bit of a social problem in the state, as one in four children in Oklahoma battle hunger. This particular food bank has developed a series of children-specific food programs that help provide quality nutrition to the young. Of special interest to Reba is the fact that the programs serve Kiowa, which is where she went to school.
