In September, we reported Reba McEntire's intent to star in and become the executive producer for the sitcom 'Malibu Country.' Now, the latest news surrounding the show is that ABC ordered the pilot, adding it to nine other comedy pilots the network is considering for the upcoming television season.

If given the full greenlight, the show will follow Reba, a country singer and divorced mother of three, as she moves her family from Nashville to a small house in Malibu. With this as the main storyline, Reba will struggle to get her singing career back on its feet while trying to maintain her children's morality in an entirely new and unfamiliar setting.

This is, of course, not Reba's first stab at a television sitcom. The country star saw her show 'Reba' run successfully on the WB network from 2001 until 2007. For 'Malibu Country,' she's joining forces once again with some of the people she worked with during that time. Rejoining her team, according to recent reports, are Kevin Abbott as a writer and co-executive producer; 'Reba' executive producers Mindy Schultheis and Michael Hanel; Reba's husband and manager Narvel Blackstock; Dave Stewart, formerly of the Eurythmics; and Laura Ziskin Productions' Pam Williams.

ABC latched on to this pilot the same week Reba has to spend a while convincing grieving fans that she had not, in fact, fallen from an Austrian mountain to her death while filming a movie. Good thing 'Malibu Country' will not be set near any European mountain ranges.
