The first leg of Reba McEntire and Brooks & Dunn’s Las Vegas residency wraps this weekend, with another leg scheduled for December. After that? McEntire says she hopes to keep rolling.

“It’s a little sad,” McEntire tells Taste of Country of the show’s final weekend. “We were going down for massages yesterday and I looked at Ronnie and I said, ‘You know, I think I could do another week of this.’ He said, ‘Shoot, I could do another month of this.’”

The “Going Out Like That” singer says she doesn’t think it’s a show they’d take on the road, but she’d love to be back at the Colosseum at Caesars Palace in 2016. “They’re discussing it … but it would be really nice if that would happen.”

The single is the only new song included in the group’s mega-set of hits. McEntire says when she first heard “Going Out Like That,” she thought of “Is There Life out There,” a hit from 1992. “I thought to myself, ‘Wow, a lot of people are going to be able to relate to this.’”

She was right. The 60-year-old has heard story after story from fans who’ve visited her in meet and greet lines or reached out on social media. “There’s been a lot of fans that have come to me, some crying, some defiant … but some come to me crying saying, ‘Oh my gosh, I can’t believe you released this right when I’m going through he left me.’”

“Music is very healing.”

“Going Out Like That” is the first single from her new Love Somebody album. It’s currently just inside the Top 30 at country radio. As a female with a song on the radio, she says she heard about consultant Keith Hill’s comments comparing male artists to lettuce and females to tomatoes amongst other things. At first she didn’t offer much of a reaction, saying that it’s not the first time all of that stuff has been said.

“My only reaction is tomatoes are more healthy than iceberg lettuce, and more powerful,” the legendary singer says, bringing a fast end to that line of inquiry.

Reba, Brooks & Dunn: Together in Vegas closes after the July 4 show and reopens on Dec. 4. Between shows she’s taken in all Las Vegas has to offer, including two of her favorite sins. “I haven’t done any gambling whatsoever but I did a little bit of shopping, love that!”

“Then the food, I think I’ve tried almost every place.”

Road trips to Bonnie Springs and sites outside the city have also occupied McEntire, Dunn and Brooks’ time. Follow any of the three on Twitter and Instagram and you’ll find three friends truly enjoying one another’s company.
