Is Richie Law the Next Scotty McCreery?

It felt like 2011 all over again on tonight's episode of 'American Idol' when Richie Law took the stage. He was on screen for all 15 seconds for the Denver audition process for Season 11 but he left quite a lasting impression on us and on the judges.

We were instantly reminded of Season 10 winner Scotty McCreery and not just because he sang a Josh Turner song, like Scotty did when we met him a year ago. The deep-voiced Law, 19, is attending college on an opera scholarship, but he's got country music in his DNA. He was young, cute, talented and reminded us of our favorite country boy Mr. McCreery. He has a terrific twang timbre to his voice and is clean-cut and All-American. In 2012, that's pretty much the definition of an 'American Idol,' now isn't it?

The judges sent Richie Law -- even his name is cool and sounds like that of a superstar -- to Hollywood. Did we just meet the new Scotty McCreery? It's too soon to tell, but we've got a good feeling about this.
