Aubrie Sellers' interpretation of the blues classic "My Babe" puts her in a class by herself in country music.

Sellers brings a wide palette of influences together in an inimitable style she calls "garage country," but she also stirred in what one might term "goth blues" for her take on "My Babe," mixing together traditional blues and grunge and delivering a vocal performance over the top of it that is melodic and strong, but with sass and attitude to spare.

Sellers and her musicians created a stir on the set of RISERS before they even took the stage at the Nashville shoot in early February when they rehearsed the Little Walter classic backstage. Their dark, discordant musical brew oozed out from under the dressing room door and wafted into the hall like some kind of acrid, vaguely menacing sonic stew, causing more than one passerby to take time out of the bustling shoot and listen outside the door.

Clad entirely in black, Sellers brought an air of mystery and a uniquely edgy sensibility to the RISERS stage with her moody performance in front of the cameras. That was in stark contrast to the smiling, friendly, even bubbly young woman who showed up full of excitement that day, fresh from a series of career wins that included not only her selection as one of Taste of Country's inaugural class of RISERS, but also her inclusion on Miranda Lambert's Highway Vagabond Tour. Sellers even took a moment before the cameras started rolling to sing "Happy Birthday" to one of the crew members on the set before switching personas and launching into her brooding performance.

She has carved out her own turf in country music with a musical approach that can't be compared to any other artist in the genre. Her debut album, New City Blues, drew glowing reviews, and fans have been discovering her not only via her exclusive performance of "Liar, Liar" for RISERS, but also her tours with Lambert and the Cadillac Three and honors including her recent inclusion in Elle's Iconic Women in Music issue for 2017.

ToC recently unveiled Brett Young's stellar cover of "Hallelujah," and we’ll be sharing more exclusive RISERS covers over the days to come, so stay tuned!
