"Here's to Nashville, Country Music, and to chasing something just because you know you'll think about it forever if you don't," the singer says in an Instagram post announcing the new signing. He continues the celebration on Twitter saying, "Couldn't be more proud to be a part of @SonyNashville and @RCARecords. This is the only job I've wanted since I was 11, dream come true!"

He recently released a video for his new song "City Girl," which is featured on his 2016 EP, Hold You Back. He's currently dating breakout country star Maren Morris, and co-wrote one of the tracks on her critically acclaimed 2016 album Hero. After touring with Chase Rice in 2016, Hurd hits the road with his girlfriend for select dates in 2017 as a supporting act on her first headlining tour, named after her breakthrough album. He'll also join Thomas Rhett, who's embarking on his own first-ever headlining gig, for all dates on his 2017 Home Team Tour, kicking off Feb. 23 in Michigan and continuing through April when the tour wraps in Nashville.
