Scotty McCreery seems more than a bit humbled that his single 'The Trouble With Girls' beat Jason Aldean's 'Tattoos on This Town' during the first Taste of Country Showdown last week. McCreery received 67.25% of the votes against Aldean's 38.75%.

"He is really incredible and one of my favorites," McCreery, a high school senior, tells Taste of Country. "I was just jamming to his music on the way home from school today!'

McCreery says he knows the Showdown involves pitting the songs of two artists against each other and letting fans vote on which they deem "best." When the 18-year old 'American Idol' winner learned he was pitted against the country rocking Aldean, he didn't think his chances to win were very high -- even though his debut album, 'Clear as Day,' sold 200,000 copies in one week.

This week, McCreery's 'The Trouble With Girls' is pitted against Chris Young's new single, 'You.' The winner of each round moves on to the next week's challenge, until they're retired (only after a four-week winning streak).

"That's very stiff competition," McCreery says. "He's one of the top dogs in country music. He's another one of my all-time favorites. It just amazes me [to be classified with them]. I'm the little newbie in country music, the freshman in Nashville just trying to work my way up. I am just flattered to even be in their company."

To hear both songs in this week's Showdown and to cast your ballot, go here. This week's competition ends on Sunday, Nov. 6 at midnight ET, so vote now!
