Scotty McCreery performed an abbreviated version of the song 'Walk in the Country' during the 2011 CMA Awards on Wednesday night. The song, from McCreery's debut album 'Clear as Day,' led into the announcement of the 2011 CMA Radio Stations of the Year honors.

While the performance was the first on Nashville's biggest stage for the 'American Idol' winner, he worked the crowd like they'd all come specifically for him. Wearing dark jeans, a dark button-up shirt and his trademark cross, McCreery belted out the Keith Urban written lyrics while high-fiving fans. He only got through half the song before he announced which radio stations had won CMA Awards.

It was rumored that Urban would join McCreery on the song, perhaps adding the guitar he didn't get to lay on the recorded track. Those rumors proved to be nothing more than rumors, however, as Urban watched from his front row seat in the audience along with everyone else. It's likely CMA Award show producers wanted McCreery to perform an uptempo song instead of his current single, 'The Trouble With Girls.'
