Scotty McCreery celebrated his 18th birthday with 15,000 friends and fans in Raleigh, N.C. on Saturday. The 'American Idol' winner hosted a birthday concert one day prior to his big birthday on October 9, during which he performed songs from his new 'Clear as Day' album and answered questions from fans and local media.

WQDR radio hosted a Q&A with McCreery, and while they were asking questions, presented him with a giant birthday card. His former employer -- local grocer Lowe's Foods -- also presented him with a gift: a giant, guitar-shaped, chocolate birthday cake. "I never bagged something like that," the former bagger quipped. "I don't think I could."

Then came the best gift of all. Mercury records gave McCreery a plaque signifying his first gold record. 'I Love You This Big' sold over 500,000 singles in just four months, and after showing the the honor off to the fans who helped him earn it, McCreery performed the hit.

McCreery's debut album 'Clear as Day' is expected to debut atop the Billboard 200 album charts, making it the best selling album in America amongst all genres when the chart is released on Wednesday.
