Shania Twain is engaged! The country beauty showed off her enormous engagement ring on Thursday after she and fiance Frederic Thiebaud left what Us Weekly is calling a "PDA-packed lunch" at a restaurant in New York City. The Nestle business executive reportedly popped the question two months ago while he and Twain were vacationing in his homeland of Switzerland.

Although they are bursting with joy now, Twain and Thiebaud did not have it easy over the past few years. Thiebaud is the ex-husband of Twain's former best friend, Marie-Anne Thiebaud. Marie-Anne and Twain's former husband, record producer Robert "Mutt" Lange, left their significant others in 2008 in order to start a relationship with one another. Twain and Lange had been married for 14 years and have a son together. Twain was absolutely devastated by this betrayal, but she found comfort with Frederic, who was dealing with the same heartache.

It just shows that some good can always arise from what was initially a horrible situation. On her official website, Twain writes that Thiebaud is a "dear friend and true gentleman." She continues, "We leaned on one another through the ups and downs, taking turns holding each other up. We've become stronger and closer through it all." Congratulations to the happy couple.
