We're getting closer and closer to the finish line for Season 14 of The Voice, and on Monday (April 30), the contestants gave their all performing fan-chosen songs for America to vote on their respective talents. While all of Team Blake Shelton are being carefully nurtured by their coach, it seems that Shelton can't help but maybe (maybe?) have a favorite child in his little family.

If so, it seems that would be Spensha Baker, a gospel-trained vocalist whose heart always laid in country music—and whom Shelton has raved over since the beginning of the season. This night was no different. Her rehearsals brought fellow team member Kyla Jade to tears—and her ultimate performance of Little Big Town's wistful "Better Man" was the closing showstopper to the night's telecast.

Shelton noted that he was delighted that viewers were embracing Baker as a country artist, and he took things even farther by asserting, "You are so important to music, to country music." He noted that Baker's admission in her video package that she at one point had given up on music "broke my heart a little bit."

"Look what you're doing right now," he told her, reminding her that this is proof she is what country music needs right now.

Do you agree with Shelton's raves over Baker? Tune back in tomorrow to see if America agreed with you. We'll be keeping an eye on things all the way to the season's finale.
