Steven Tyler learned that a little girl sitting behind him on a Southwest Airlines flight was celebrating a birthday, so he made it special. Watch as the rocker-turned-country-singer sings to Carly, making a “fan for life.”

The moment was captured earlier this year. Perhaps more surprising than having a world-famous rocker turn around and sing to you is that he’s on the plane at all. We imagine Tyler on a private jet, but nope! It’s Southwest, so he had to battle for a good position in the boarding line like the rest of us. It looks like he got a window seat, so he must have scored the A group.

Tyler shows off his “bling” before noticing Carly’s sparkly skirt. Then he sings to her, adding zerberts between each line. "What a great guy!” Carly’s mom writes on YouTube.

In April, Tyler officially signed to the Big Machine Label Group, promising to release a country album sometime in 2015. He also appeared at the Grand Ole Opry, admitting that he’s writing with Eric Paslay and more. Brett James and Jaren Johnston are two others he’s said to be working alongside. The rocker will perform his debut country single on American Idol next Wednesday. It’s believed to be called “Love Is Your Name.”
