November 9, 2011 As Alan Jackson accepted the honor of having his own star along Music City's Walk of Fame Sunday afternoon, he remembered the first time he came to Nashville. The legendary hitmaker was one of seven people honored during last weekend's ceremony.
Nashville's hottest country stars will head south seeking warmer climate this winter. Lady Antebellum, Alan Jackson, Keith Urban and more are lined up to play the 2012 San Antonio Rodeo, which kicks off on Feb. 9 down in the Lone Star State.
Sunday evening (October 16), the best of the best in Nashville's songwriting community gathered at the Renaissance Hotel in the heart of Music City, where dozens of tunesmiths were recognized at the 41st Anniversary Hall of Fame Dinner and Induction Ceremony. The top honors at the invite-only event went to Garth Brooks, Alan Jackson, John Bettis, Thom Schuyler and Allen Shamblin, who were all inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame.
A free Alan Jackson concert won't rebuild what was damaged by the 5.8 magnitude earthquake that hit the east coast on August 23, but it will certainly help polish the spirit of those who were affected. Mineral, Va., which was at the epicenter of the quake, banded together to prove their loyalty to the 'Remember When' singer by gathering the most votes in Jackson's contest with Eventful's Demand It. Now, the small town will be rewarded with a much-needed free concert.

August 23, 2011 As the nation prepares to commemorate the tenth anniversary of the September 11 attacks, Alan Jackson has been asked to play at the Washington National Cathedral in Washington, D.C. Jackson will no doubt be performing 'Where Were You (When the World Stopped Turning),' a song he premiered at the CMA Awards two months after the attacks.
Country superstars Garth Brooks and Alan Jackson are among the honorees being inducted into the 2011 Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame Foundation. In addition to Brooks and Jackson being recognized will be hit writers John Bettis, Thom Schuyler and Allen Shamblin. This year's five inductees will be receive their honors in front of hundreds of their peers during the dinner and induction ceremony in October in Nashville.
Country was given one night to rock our local ABC stations, and they managed to shake things up well into Monday. Zac Brown Band had the honor of closing out 'CMA Music Festival: Country's Night to Rock' event with a second performance, which they did with Alan Jackson's help on 'As She's Walking Away.'
