Luke Bryan was a successful songwriter before his debut single ‘All My Friends Say’ became a hit in 2007. The Georgia-born singer wrote ‘Good Directions’ for Billy Currington as well as tracks for others, but it was clear he had too much talent and charisma to remain in the shadow of Music City’s biggest stars. Bryan first picked up the guitar as a teen and had plans to move to Nashville after high school, but the death of his brother left him wanting to stay close to home. Finally, in 2001, he made the move. Bryan’s breakout song was ‘Country Girl’ from 2011. The single and several televised live performances cleared his path to superstardom. Three singles from ‘Tailgates and Tanlines’ would go Platinum, and in April 2013, he was named the ACM’s Entertainer of the Year during a broadcast he co-hosted.

Blake Shelton may be happy with his win for Male Vocalist of the Year at the 2014 CMA Awards, but he's probably even more happy that he didn't make a bet with Luke Bryan about it beforehand. The country singer's made that mistake before -- and it cost him big.
Last weekend Miranda Lambert found a challenger her new song couldn't top, and he lives in the same house. 'Lonely Tonight,' the duet from Blake Shelton and Ashley Monroe, topped Lambert's 'Smokin' and Drinkin'' during an extremely competitive Showdown. Today Mr. Lambert's competition won't be easier.
Ladies, you'll want to sit down for this. These days, Luke Bryan is known for shakin' his groove thang in concert -- in skin-tight jeans, no less -- but the star admits he won't pull the Beyonce moves at his shows forever.
