Reba McEntire is one of the most beloved country stars of all time. The Oklahoma native got her start singing in a high school band, but it was a performance of the national anthem at a rodeo that caught the attention of Red Steagall, who brought her to Nashville. She released a string of unsuccessful albums from 1977 to 1983 before switching labels and hitting it big with ‘How Blue’ and ‘Somebody Should Leave,’ her first No. 1 hits. McEntire has gone on to one of the most commercially successful careers in history, releasing 26 albums, scoring 40 No. 1 hits and selling more than 80 million records. She has re-invented herself repeatedly, exploring various styles, starring on Broadway and television and continuing to find new ways to make her mark. Most recently McEntire became the first artist signed to Nash Icon, a new label designed to bring classic country stars back into the commercial marketplace. She is a member of both the Grand Ole Opry and the Country Music Hall of Fame.
