Jake Owen, Rhett Akins, Heidi Newfield + More to Sing for Their Supper to Benefit Wounded Troops

Hit songwriter Bobby Pinson is gathering some of his singing pals to play his weekly acoustic Sing for Your Supper show, which will benefit wounded warriors. Words for Warriors is set to take place on Wednesday, April 11 at Pinson's new Nashville restaurant, Lucy's Country Cafe, which he and his wife (Lucy) opened in early February.

Wild Turkey Breast Recipe by Rhett Akins

"Deer meat and turkey meat and anything wild is about as good as you can get," Rhett Akins, an avid outdoorsman and hunter, tells Taste of Country when speaking of his wild turkey breast recipe. "The No. 1 main reason this recipe is cool is because you went out and got it yourself. You didn’t go to the grocery store and buy it. You spent hours and sometimes days or weeks trying to get the turkey. So it’s cool to know that you went out and did it on your own, like back in the old days."

Rhett Akins Invites Jake Owen, Dierks Bentley + More to Annual Country Goes Huntin’ Charity Turkey Hunt

Later this week, Rhett Akins and his famous pals from the music and hunting world will join forces for his 11th annual charity turkey hunt, Country Goes Huntin'. Like the previous 10 years, the event will consist of a three day turkey hunt (March 22-24) in Dothan, Ala. There, pro hunters will pair with country singers/songwriters for a good time and, more importantly, a great cause.

For the 10th straight year, singer-songwriter Rhett Akins will host his annual Country Goes Huntin' event, set to take place March 27-30. This year's theme is "Bringing It Back to the Camp Again," which will have the festivities taking place where it all started in Blakely, Ga.
