Billboard just announced the finalists for their 2012 Billboard Music Awards, and several country acts were included in the prestigious list of nominees. The winners will be officially announced at the awards show Sunday, May 20 at Las Vegas' MGM Grand and will be accompanied by a live telecast on ABC at 8PM ET.

Twitter Taylor Swift Still Hard at Work on New Album
At the end of last year, we reported that Taylor Swift was getting to work writing for her 2012 record, a follow-up to her massively successful 'Speak Now.' The October 2010 release grew into the international phenomenon that was her Speak Now World Tour, sparking a series of sold out shows and all-star collaborations. And while we haven't heard much in the past few months as far as album details, like a title or a release date, Swift did take to Twitter Wednesday night (April 11) to post a photo of her in a pair of headphones playing guitar in the studio.

The song is a cut from the 'Airplanes' singer's forthcoming 'Strange Clouds' record.
