This year's gala, with the theme 'Alexander McQueen: Savage Beauty,' was set up to honor the memory of late designer Alexander McQueen, whose design house most recently constructed Kate Middleton's royal wedding gown.

Country stars have been quick to respond to the news of a devastating storm which churned huge tornadoes spread through the southern United States yesterday, leaving miles of destruction in its path and over 250 people in six states dead. Tuscaloosa, Alabama was the worst hit, as it suffered more than half of the fatalities from the F5 twister, though Mississippi, Georgia, Virginia and Arkansas were also greatly damaged.
