Tate Stevens, one of the final 3 contestants on Season 2 of 'X Factor,' is a strong contender to win the $5 million recording contract that is the prize booty on the show. The future country star reminded us of why he is a fan favorite on Wednesday (Dec. 19), thanks to his lazy day duet with Little Big Town. The band joined him on the live stage for a rendition of their chart-topping smash, 'Pontoon.'

Stevens handled the first verse and chorus on his own before he introduced LBT and welcomed them to the stage. He was more than happy to lend the vocal assist to the established country group on "his" show.

During the performance, the hopeful contender showed a more playful side of himself, flirting with and grooving alongside LBT's Kimberly Schlapman and Karen Fairchild, even kicking up his heels and blushing a little. It was cute to see him let loose and try to dance some of the stress off. He may not be the most flawless dancer, nor was he cutting a rug -- but it's likely he was nervous in the company of country superstars. Stevens was having a good time, though, and that's all that matters.

It was also fun to see him interact with other people on the stage while performing, showing us what else he is made of as an entertainer.

Tune in Thursday night (Dec. 20) to see if Stevens wins during the 'X Factor' finale. He's been one of the most consistent performers of the season, landing atop the fan leaderboard nearly every week, so he certainly has a strong chance. Our fingers are crossed.
