Taylor Swift took home the biggest award of the night on Monday (Feb. 15) at the 2016 Grammy Awards: Album of the Year for her first pop album, 1989.

She also happened to make the most memorable acceptance speech of the evening when she turned from thanking fans and the Recording Academy for her award to empowering women everywhere, as she is the only woman in Grammy history to win Album of the Year twice, having last won in 2010 for Fearless.

“I want to thank the fans for the last 10 years and the Recording Academy for giving us this unbelievable honor,” Swift said as she accepted the night’s most coveted prize. “I want to thank all of my collaborators that you see on this stage, mostly I want to thank my co-executive producer Max Martin who has deserved to be up here for 25 years.”

Then, Swift’s speech got serious as she spoke assertively for young women to stand their ground and not let anyone take credit for their success, no doubt a subtle dig to Kanye West and his latest song that name-drops Swift.

“As the first woman to win album of the year at the Grammys twice I want to say to all the young women out there, there are going to be people along the way who will try to undercut your success or take credit for your accomplishments or your fame,” she sternly explained, “If you just focus on the work and you don’t let those people sidetrack you, some day when you get to where you’re going you’ll look around and know that it was you and the people who love you who put you there and that will be the greatest feeling in the world. Thank you for this moment.”

Swift won three 2016 Grammys, including Best Music Video for “Bad Blood” and Best Pop Vocal Album for 1989.
