Taylor Swift Covers InStyle, Admits She’s Interested in Bad Boys

Taylor Swift

Taylor Swift talks about — what else? — love in the November 2013 issue of InStyle, admitting that she’s found that she’s often interested in shady guys.

Although they always seem to interest her, the songstress is introspective, revealing that something needs to be done about that usually fatal attraction.

“I think it needs to be changed,” Swift shares. “My friends tease me about the fact that if someone seems bad or shady or like they have a secret, I find them incredibly interesting. That’s just a phase I’ve been in lately. I don’t think this should be how I proceed in life. It’s important to be self-aware about these things because you don’t want to end up with that guy.”

In fact, those very same feelings may have spurred the ‘Red’ superstar’s incredibly insightful, incredibly catchy hit ‘I Knew You Were Trouble.’ Although Swift has definitely seen trouble in her past relationships, she’s also learned a lot, including knowing when to walk away.

“Sometimes you know after two dates that you’re not the right fit. And sometimes you know you’re not the right fit, and you fall for it anyway,” Swift admits.

“One thing I’ve learned that I’m proud of — drum roll, please — is when to walk away. I’ve had some short relationships because I know when to do that,” she muses.

Although that track record of short-term relationships has attracted criticism, it seems like a smart move by Swift, and an important lesson for everyone to learn.

While she knows that every single guy she eats lunch with, smiles at, or even makes eye contact with will have the tabloids running rampant, the songstress is still determined to have guy friends — and there’s none better than British star, Ed Sheeran.

“I have never had such a close guy friend before,” she dishes. “It’s always kind of creepy because with a guy friend-girl friend situation, it usually feels like one person always wants more. That’s not the case here.”

She cautions, “If [a guy] wants to be friends with me, just know people are going to say we’re dating.”

Although Swift hasn’t found a keeper yet, she’s learned many lessons over the years — and at just 23, she has a whole lot of time to find her real-life Romeo.
