Taylor Swift Calls Out Bullies With Banjo Performance of ‘Mean’ at 2011 ACMs
Pop-country sensation Taylor Swift strummed a banjo along to her new hit single, 'Mean,' at tonight's ACM Awards, as her four-piece band picked alongside her.
The singer performed her folk hit against an intricate set design, made to appear as if an old country house was swept into the MGM Grand. By the end of the song, when Swift dropped the line "someday, I’ll be living in a big old city, and all you’re ever gonna be is mean," the scenery transformed into a big city backdrop, with sky-high night-lit buildings for a dramatic effect.
Just last week, the 'Love Story' hitmaker hit an astonishing 20 million album sales. 'Mean' appears on her 2010 album, 'Speak Now.' Swift is nominated for three big awards at tonight's ACMs.
