Taylor Swift was born to Scott Kingsley Swift, a Merill Lynch financial adviser, and Andrea Finlay, a former marketing executive, in 1989. The future superstar grew up on an 11-acre Christmas tree farm in Pennsylvania, went to private schools and vacationed at the family's beachfront summer home in New Jersey. Scott Swift provided some seed money to begin Big Machine Records with Swift as the first signed artist. He currently owns three percent of the company.
