Not even Tim McGraw could've prevented a recent outbreak at his show over the weekend that left a 19-year-old male fighting for his life. While McGraw performed at the Comcast Center in Mansfield, Mass., a young man became the victim of a beating during the show, where he was jumped and pummeled, according to the local news station.

The young man, whose identity has not been released, was airlifted from the show to Boston Medical Center where he immediately underwent surgeries that saved his life. The victim's aunt said her nephew's spleen was removed, but he is expected to make a full recovery.

"This is a serious crime. This man easily could have died," says Chief Arthur O’Neill of the Mansfield Police Department. "Witnesses say he was jumped by one person, taken to the ground, hit many times and then kicked in the head by another person."

After interviewing the victim Monday following his surgery, authorities are still searching for those responsible for the beating, who are said to be in their 20s. "[The victim] was not able to give them really anything to go on," O'Neill says.

Police are asking anyone who may have seen or heard anything during or after the attack to call the Mansfield police.
