Rising country trio Temecula Road didn't pass up a chance to record the Chainsmokers' hit song "Closer," and Taste of Country didn't miss a chance to premiere the video.

Sisters Maddie and Emma Salute and Dawson Anderson make up the three-part harmonies of Temecula Road, a California-based trio that is making the road to country stardom look more fun than playing with puppies. "Closer" is a favorite song of theirs, and when Radio Disney Country suggested they perform it live, they couldn't say no.

Cover songs are nothing new for this group. Every Tuesday they choose one for #TemeculaRoadTuesday, with previous picks including Florida Georgia Line's "God, Your Mama and Me" and Kelsea Ballerini's "Peter Pan." Taste of Country readers may recall their cover of Justin Bieber's "Love Yourself" and Carrie Underwood's "Heartbeat."

During "Closer," Dawson plays guitar and takes lead at first before 16-year-old Maddie and 17-year-old Emma join him. After the first chorus they trade off lead vocals — all three singers get a chance to lead the recent pop hit. Temecula Road took their name from the city in California they grew up in. Audio from this performance first appeared on Radio Disney Country last week.
