Last year, sibling trio the Band Perry made their way to the ACM Awards in Las Vegas, where they took home the fan-voted New Artist of the Year Award. Even so, the band wasn't officially nominated for an award, and the youngest Perry sibling, Neil, was still too young to even try his hand at a Vegas slot machine. This year, however, the band has an official nod for Vocal Group of the Year, and they say they're excited to get out to Las Vegas and hang out with some of the best names in country music.

"Last year at the ACM Awards we got to take home the hardware for New Artist and so that was actually the first award that we’ve won, and it was fan voted, so the ACMs are very near and dear to us," Kimberly said recently, according to a Republic Nashville press release. "I kind of feel like they were a good luck charm that got last year rolling in so many ways for us.”

This year, Kimberly says she and her brothers are looking forward to enjoying the performances of their country peers, insisting that they're just as much music fans as writers and performers. "We’re fans first and foremost, so we’re most excited to be in Vegas to hang out with all of our artist friends and industry friends," she said.

Though Kimberly and Reid joke that they had to tuck Neil into bed to watch TV after last year's awards, this year, the youngest Perry turned 21 -- and thus will be able to at least have the option of experiencing all that Vegas has to offer. Says the youngest, “I may do some penny slots, some nickel slots and whatever …”

And while the Perry siblings may tease one another about their respective ages and the resulting limitations, as a whole the young band members are experiencing the success of a fully grown country act, having just finished their first European tour and now watching their latest single 'Postcards From Paris' climb the charts.

This weekend, the Band Perry will be hitting Vegas with the rest of the country world for some killer performances and prestigious awards at the 2012 ACMs... and maybe even a go at a slot machine or two.
