The Band Perry have split from their longtime label, Republic Nashville and the Big Machine Label Group. The trio announced the separation on Facebook, adding that there will definitely be a new album coming.

It’s not clear when that project will be released, however, or who will release it. The separation comes in advance of what was expected to be their third studio album. The first single from that album, “Live Forever,” was a Top 30 hit, but fell short of expectations. It was a more pop-friendly sound for the Band Perry — a band that has been rumored to be considering a crossover to pop music.

“We are grateful for 6 years of the big moments and great strides we made with our BMLG family and will carry that foundation forward with us as we begin the next leg of our journey,” the sibling trio (Kimberly, Reid and Neil) said in a statement.

BMLG president Scott Borchetta also confirmed the separation on Twitter:

“Hip to My Heart” was the Band Perry’s debut single, released in 2009, but “If I Die Young” is the song that launched their career to new heights. The multi-platinum hit was their first of four No. 1 singles. Between 2010 and 2014 they won multiple CMA and ACM Awards.

The Band Perry said that for their Heart + Beat album, they were dreaming in color. But not much else was said about the project, especially after “Live Forever” fell from the charts. Radio didn’t respond to the heavier production and more anthemic nature of the song, even though that tone played well at concerts. The trio has a healthy dose of concerts listed at their official website, including a show on Tuesday night (March 1) in Houston.
