The Band Perry’s Debut Album Goes Gold
The Band Perry‘s self-titled debut album has officially gone gold, which means that they have sold over 500,000 copies since the record was released last October!
The album is holding steady at No. 7 on the Billboard Country Albums chart and No, 37 on Billboard’s Top 200. The project includes their No. 1 hit, ‘If I Die Young,’ and their newest single, ‘You Lie,’ already at No. 25 on Billboard Hot Country Songs chart.
Jimmy Harnen, the head of the trio’s label, says, “Having a gold record is a tremendous accomplishment and to achieve that status in just under four months is even more amazing. This award is yet another wonderful accolade in a spectacular year for The Band Perry.”
Band member Reid Perry tells USA Today that the group started with very humble roots: “We played everything from churches to crawfish boils.” The Perrys think of their music as “modern throwback” with influences that range from Loretta Lynn to the Rolling Stones.
