The Band Perry's self-titled debut album has officially gone gold, which means that they have sold over 500,000 copies since the record was released last October!

The album is holding steady at No. 7 on the Billboard Country Albums chart and No, 37 on Billboard's Top 200. The project includes their No. 1 hit, 'If I Die Young,' and their newest single, 'You Lie,' already at No. 25 on Billboard Hot Country Songs chart.

Jimmy Harnen, the head of the trio's label, says, “Having a gold record is a tremendous accomplishment and to achieve that status in just under four months is even more amazing. This award is yet another wonderful accolade in a spectacular year for The Band Perry.”

Band member Reid Perry tells USA Today that the group started with very humble roots: "We played everything from churches to crawfish boils." The Perrys think of their music as "modern throwback" with influences that range from Loretta Lynn to the Rolling Stones.

Tim McGraw chose the Alabama natives as the opening act on his Emotional Traffic Tour, which kicks off in April. After that, they'll go out on the road with Keith Urban for a while.
