The nominees for the much coveted USA Weekend 2011 Breakthrough Video of the Year CMT Music Award have been announced, and the competition is stiff as a board! The Band Perry, Lee Brice, Aaron Lewis, Jerrod Niemann, and Thompson Square have all been nominated in the category, and it’s anyone's award to win.

To be specific, the award recognizes and honors the very best video from the artist's major breakthrough album. The Band Perry would appear to be the favorite, since 'If I Die Young' is an undeniable smash hit that put the Perry siblings on the map -- and the band has been carrying home armfuls of awards! However, Aaron Lewis, who has a rather successful day job singing for multi-platinum hard rockers Staind, is effectively carving out his place in the country music canon with his debut: the moody, melancholic and powerful 'Country Boy.'

But Lee Brice has enjoyed quite the insane reaction to 'Love Like Crazy,' so you can't count him out, either! The song held the No. 1 position for the longest period in the history of the Billboard Hot Country Songs radio chart. Jerrod Neimann's 'Lover, Lover' also has a chance to take the prize, as it was a No. 1 country hit, while Thompson Square's 'Are You Gonna Kiss Me or Not' certainly stands a chance to nab the win, as this husband and wife duo's hit song also landed in the lofty No. 1 position on the country radio charts.

See what we mean by stiff competition? There is just no way to predict who will win! Additional nominations will be revealed on 'Today' on NBC this Wednesday, April 27 during the 10AM hour, ET. The Band Perry will also perform 'You Lie' then.

You'll just have to tune in to the 2011 CMT Music Awards, which are set to air live from Nashville on June 8 on CMT and CMT.com.
