It was a good fight between two great songs, but Scotty McCreery's new single "Southern Belle" bested Carrie Underwood's "Smoke Break" over the weekend, earning the young singer (another) place in the Taste of Country Song Showdown Hall of Fame. Today and Tuesday, it's a girls battle as Kacey Musgraves and Danielle Bradbery square off.

Musgraves' "Dime Store Cowgirl" is an autobiography of the singer's rise to fame from humble beginnings. It's honest and forthcoming — what fans have always been able to expect from Musgraves — even making the admission that while she may have gotten too big for her britches along the way, she's since checked herself. Musgraves is still just the small-town girl from Golden, Texas.

"Friend Zone" is the first taste from Bradbery's second album on Big Machine, and is the right choice for country fans who prefer more of a pop-country blend over Musgraves' picky, twangy story. This one finds Bradbery putting a boy in his place in the Friend Zone when he doesn't call her on time. It's one of her strongest vocal performances ever, but will it be enough to topple "Dime Store Cowgirl"?

Listen to clips of both Musgraves and Bradbery's songs and vote for your favorite here. You can vote once every hour until this Showdown ends on Wednesday at 8AM ET, so come back and vote often to be sure your artist wins. The winner of this matchup will face a new challenger on Wednesday.

Showdown Rules: The song with the most votes wins, and the winner goes on to face a new challenger in the next Showdown. Vote as much as once per hour online. If a song wins five Showdowns in a row, it will be retired into the Taste of Country Showdown Hall of Fame to allow for new songs to compete. Some songs will be considered for a second Showdown if voter turnout is healthy in a losing effort.
