Thomas Rhett represented country music well Sunday evening (March 5) at the 2017 iHeartRadio Music Awards. The only country artist to perform at the show, Rhett sang his most recent No. 1 single "Star of the Show" with the help of audience members who stood at both sides of a long red carpet.

Taking a cue from his one-shot music video for the song, the cameras followed him as he walked back and forth on the red carpet and shook fans' hands while he sang. Watch a clip of his performance above.

It was a big night for the singer, who attended the awards show with his wife, Lauren. The couple graced the red carpet earlier that evening where Lauren, wearing a form-fitting black dress, showed off her baby bump for the first time.

Rhett also took home the award for Country Artist of the Year at the 2017 iHeartRadio Music Awards. During his acceptance speech, he gave his wife and future daughter a shout-out.

"My wife is 18 weeks pregnant right now and so this is also our unborn daughter's first awards show so that's pretty rad," he said.

In February, the couple learned they would be having a daughter during a sweet gender reveal party at home with their family and friends. In a video shared on his Instagram page, Rhett plunged a knife into a cake with pink and blue frosting. The color of the cake revealed the baby’s gender and after several dramatic seconds — the pink icing revealed the baby is a girl. The couple will welcome their first child this summer and are also in the process of adopting a baby from Africa.
