Thompson Square Celebrate Album Release and Hit Single

Thompson Square's Keifer and Shawna Thompson celebrated Valentine's Day a bit early this year, but who could blame them? They have a lot to be happy about! The husband-wife duo's self-titled debut album has hit record stores nationwide, and their current single, 'Are You Gonna Kiss Me or Not,' has broken into Billboard's Top 15 country singles chart.

"I think tonight we might go out for a nice dinner or something," Shawna tells Lafayette, La. radio station KMDL of their pre-Valentine's Day plans.

But the couple had other tasks at hand before last night's celebratory dinner: hitting the retail stores and seeing their album stocked next to the rest of country music's hottest stars. "We’re freaking out right now," Keifer says during the interview. "We’re going to go to Walmart and Best Buy and all those places and buy a copy of it here in a little bit. You’ve gotta do that! We’re definitely going to do that."

"We thought about doing a little tour of all the retailers so we can see our CD on the shelves," adds Shawna. "Maybe show up with a marching band and streamers!"

Having their album in stores has been a dream come true for the duo, who have spent a majority of their life together pursuing a music career. Now, even with a hit single under their belts, they still feel the need to pinch themselves on a daily basis.

"It’s so weird," Keifer notes. "We’ve had a couple of people ask, ‘How does it feel to have a hit?’ It doesn’t register because it just doesn’t feel real still. It was such a dream and a goal. Dreams are what they are. When you see one come [true] a little bit it takes you back a lot. It’s odd."
