After a commercially disappointing debut album, Tim McGraw returned in 1994 with a successful sophomore set, earning his first No. 1 single with 'Don't Take the Girl.' The tearjerker ballad propelled the superstar's album, 'Not a Moment Too Soon,' to sell more than six million copies, and fueled the project to become the best-selling album in all genres the same year.

Our No. 15 entry on the Top 100 Country Songs countdown helped McGraw earn a handful of industry awards, including Album of the Year and Top New Male Vocalist during the 1994 American Music Awards ceremony. Billboard Magazine also named the accompanying collection Top New Country Album that same year.
