Tim McGraw better reach for his party hat, as his most recent chart-topping single, ‘Felt Good on My Lips,’ has been certified gold for digital sales exceeding 500,000 copies sold.

The tune, penned by the Warren Brothers (Brett and Brad Warren), as well as Brett and Jim Beavers (who are also brothers) for McGraw’s ‘Emotional Traffic’ album, hit the top of the charts back in Jan. 2011 and has been the latest single from McGraw to reach No. 1. In addition to topping the country singles chart, ‘Felt Good on My Lips’ also peaked at No. 1 on Billboard’s Adult Contemporary chart.

The song is one of the 12 tracks on McGraw’s ‘Emotional Traffic’ album, which will finally see the light of day this week when it hits stores today (Tuesday, Jan. 24). ‘Emotional Traffic’ will also be the final album released under the Curb Records branch for McGraw, who reached a settlement in court releasing the singer’s ties to the Nashville label.

However, McGraw has not been allowing any grass to grow under his feet since parting ways with Curb. He has been working with longtime friend and producer Byron Gallimore on new tunes for a new project he’s hoping to release in 2012.

This summer, McGraw will hit the road with his pal Kenny Chesney on the Brothers of the Sun Tour. The coast-to-coast arena tour is set to hit over 20 major market venues between June and August. The tour will also feature Jake Owen on the lineup. Click here for a complete list of dates where the tour will be stopping.
