This past weekend was bittersweet for Tim McGraw, as he completed his mission of giving mortgage-free homes to veterans in need in each city on the Brothers of the Sun Tour.

The summer-long campaign had McGraw changing the lives of the heroes and their families throughout the U.S., including Tampa and Boston, where the final homes were given away. Through this program, McGraw was able to meet each family and hear their inspiring, personal stories as they walked side-by-side with the singer to the stage at each show.

"Each family had touching stories and made an indelible mark on me," says McGraw of the experience. "From the Delucia family's amazing story of recovery and strength through physical injuries the first night in Tampa to the Connor family, who we surprised this past weekend at their new home with a puppy for their daughter Molly … I will never forget any of them. The need to take care of the men and women who fight and sacrifice so much for us is great, and this program is only making a dent. I definitely hope to do more down the road."

McGraw has also bid farewell to the summer's hottest trek, the Brothers of the Sun Tour, also featuring Kenny Chesney. Next up for the 'Truck Yeah' hitmaker is a Las Vegas run with his superstar wife, Faith Hill. The pair will take on the Venetian showroom with their highly anticipated Soul2Soul residency performance beginning in December. The shows will extend over 10 weekends, wrapping up in April 2013.
