Tim McGraw used his performance slot early in the 2012 CMA Awards broadcast to sing his brand new single 'One of Those Nights.' The former Entertainer of the Year's straightforward rendition of the vocal ballad is from his upcoming 'Two Lanes of Freedom' album.

McGraw was backed up by no fewer than five guitarists as he performed the track. Though the song tells a story about looking back on the memories of young love, McGraw's words were sure to be accurate for every artist lucky enough to walk away with an award tonight: "Someday you’ll be looking back at your life at the memories / This is gonna be one of those nights."

As the song reached its climax, McGraw let loose and belted it out the hook, earning a big round of applause from fans and a fist pump from his wife, Faith Hill.

Earlier in the day, McGraw won the only 2012 CMA Award for which he was nominated, capturing Vocal Event of the Year for his Kenny Chesney collaboration 'Feel Like a Rock Star.'
