Tim McGraw doesn't have a problem with people wanting to take pictures of him and his wife, Faith Hill, but in a new interview, the star says paparazzi need to leave his children and his family time alone.

"We live in Nashville, so for us it's a safe haven in a lot of ways," he tells WMZQ. "There has to be some distance. We put ourselves out there, because that's what we do for a living, but our kids didn't ask for it. You've got to have some restraint, I think."

McGraw says professional photographers who make their living shooting celebrities can sometimes encroach too much upon their personal space. "I think that any time they can push these guys back a bit, it's a good thing," the singer admits. "I don’t mind people taking pictures, but at least if somebody says no, or somebody’s doing something, leave their family out of it.”

The superstar recently enlisted his daughter, Gracie, for a song that will appear on his upcoming album, Damn Country Music.

"When we were working on this song, I just kept hearing her voice on 'Here Tonight,'" he says. "I was afraid to ask her because she’s way cooler than I am, and I was scared to death that she would say no."

They debuted the song live at McGraw's recent concert in Nashville. Take a look at that video below.

McGraw is also slated to headline at We Fest 2016, which takes place in Detroit Lakes, Minn. from Aug. 4-6, 2016. For more information on the hottest festivals of 2016, check out our handy 2016 festival guide.
