On New Year's Eve, many people put on their shiniest bling and their highest heels to hit the town -- but not Tim McGraw. He's looking forward to a casual night in with his family, eating black-eye peas. He doesn't even make resolutions!

Instead, the singer spends time with wife Faith Hill and his girls, and when the ball drops, he's thinking about the future.

“For me, New Year’s Eves I like to be low-key and hang out with my family and be a little bit contemplative and think about the year that lies ahead," McGraw shares. "I’m not much about the past.”

The 'Shotgun Rider' hitmaker has a good reason for not making New Year's resolutions, of course. “I don’t make New Year’s resolutions. I try to accomplish my goals throughout the year and they float and change," he shares.

Adds McGraw humorously, "But, I don’t make resolutions because I don’t wanna set myself up for failure."

All kidding aside, the Louisiana-born McGraw does participate in a few traditions as the calendar flips over. He's one of the many who will be eating their black-eyed peas on New Year's to ensure a year filled with good luck.

"I don't really have any superstitions that I think of. You know, we try to do black-eyed peas and greens and those sorta things," McGraw dishes. "But, I’m not very big on that sorta stuff. I just sort of look to the New Year as a opportunity to do new things and accomplish new goals."

What those new goals are, exactly, is what every country fan will be making it their resolution to find out in 2015. Happy New Year!
