Superstar Tim McGraw came to the rescue of a fan in need of some medical help mid-set during the Atlanta stop of his Two Lanes of Freedom Tour on Sunday (May 12).

Paula Whitten was taking in an intimate view of McGraw's show from the first few rows when she realized something was wrong halfway through the set. She tells KICKS 101.5FM, "I just started feeling kinda weak. I was against the stage, so I knew if I got out, I wouldn't be able to get back up."

Whitten sat down for a minute to try and gain some strength, but when she stood up, she collapsed. Fortunately, the 'Highway Don't Care' hitmaker saw the fan pass out, since she was so close to the stage, and jumped down to try and help her.

"I remember waking up and there was Tim McGraw sitting in front of me, handing me water," Whitten recalls. "He actually gave me a hot water at first." He then handed her a cold one, helping her wake up a bit more. “He was talking to me and talking to the medics to try to get me up," she says.

Many fans could only dream of being rescued in such a chivalrous way by one of the biggest music stars in the world, which has some envious folks accusing Whitten of faking the ordeal. But "It was nothing to do with acting," she assures, explaining that she passed out because of the oppressive heat in the pit.

As for McGraw, he proved that he will rescue any damsel in distress, putting his best interests aside. In fact, when he noticed Whitten, he actually stopped the show for several minutes to make sure she was okay -- the mark of a truly selfless star. Although the 46-year-old recently dished on what to expect during his tour, he probably didn't anticipate rescuing a fainting fan!
