Tim McGraw's next film is an action flick where he'll be starring opposite Oscar winner Denzel Washington and Ryan Reynolds in the Daniel Espinosa directed movie ‘Safe House.’ McGraw plays a spy in the movie, and when asked by the Boston Herald what he likes about this next role, he says, "I'm looking forward to killing someone."

The ‘Felt Good on My Lips’ singer adds, “I love the dramatic, heavy, darker stuff; that’s what I do best as an actor.”

The movie is set in Washington, D.C. and stars Reynolds as a young CIA agent who becomes the housesitter of a governmental safe house. Washington plays a criminal in hiding who must be transported to a second safe house when the house comes under attack by violent forces that want them both dead.

‘Safe House’ director Daniel Espinosa is a filmmaker from Sweden who attended the National Film School of Denmark. He's the acclaimed director of ‘The Fighter’ (no, not the new Mark Wahlberg film), which was a hit on the foreign festival circuit and paved the way for his second feature as writer-director of ‘Easy Money.’

‘Safe House’ will begin shooting this spring in Cape Town, South Africa. McGraw’s current film, 'Country Strong,' opens nationwide on Friday.
