It's Jimmy Fallon's first week hosting 'The Tonight Show,' and Tim McGraw celebrated by premiering his new song 'Shotgun Rider' on the show Wednesday night (Feb. 19).

Wearing a fitted black shirt, sleek gray pants and his usual ten-gallon hat, the country star captivated the audience with this uber romantic song. His smooth voice and calm stage demeanor were the perfect partners to the sweet lyrics, and McGraw showed everyone that he's a country music icon for a reason, putting in a flawless performance.

McGraw fans may remember another song by the singer with the same title 'Shotgun Rider,' a duet with his lovely wife Faith Hill, from his 2007 album 'Let It Go.' Although it's surprising that the track has the same name, it actually makes perfect sense once you listen to the lyrics of his newest song. Essentially, the star is saying that he never wants another shotgun rider beside him -- likely a play on words hinting at the duet.

"I don't ever want to wake up / Lookin' into someone else's eyes / Another voice callin' me baby / On the other end of the phone / A new girl putting on her makeup / Before dinner on a Friday night / No, I don't ever want no other shotgun rider beside me / Singing to the radio," McGraw sings. It's a romantic song overall, but even more so when you also take into account the country couple's 17 years of marriage. They work to keep the spark alive, and it shows!

McGraw's performance of 'Shotgun Rider' was fans' first look at the song, and it was intentional.

"I thought since it's Jimmy's first week we should give his audience something they can't get anywhere else," the star explains. "It's been a great week for the show already, and I'm honored Jimmy invited me to the party!"

After McGraw finished performing, Fallon rushed onstage, shook the star's hand and yelled, "That's my man right there! Tim McGraw!"

In addition to performing, McGraw and Fallon played a few rousing rounds of charades with other guests Emma Thompson and Bradley Cooper. When you get a television host, country star and two phenomenal actors together to play the acting game, you get a lot of laughs -- and a lot of correct answers!

The 'Lookin' for That Girl' hitmaker has a new album due out later this year. He will kick off the Sundown Heaven Town 2014 Tour in May, hitting 30 cities over the course of the summer.
