Tim McGraw's latest acting adventure in Disney's Tomorrowland drops on Friday (May 22), so when Taste of Country Nights caught up with the superstar, he talked all about why he chose the role. Oh, and what George Clooney is really like when cameras aren't rolling!

McGraw is a dad to three daughters, a husband to wife Faith Hill, a country superstar and a talented actor. The "Shotgun Rider" hitmaker has a full resume and a full schedule, so when it comes to picking and choosing what movies to accept, he gets a little picky.

“It’s about finding time, you know," McGraw tells ToCN host Sam Alex, "I don’t have much window in my year to make a movie, and so I don’t always make ‘em. I gotta find one that I like, first of all, and then I’ve got to find one that I like. It’s gotta be people that I wanna work with and all of those things. So all of those variables have to come together.”

George Clooney is star of Tomorrowland, playing a former boy-genius, and McGraw got to see what the high-profile actor is really like when he's not in front of a camera.

"He’s just a good guy, ya know?" he shares, joking, "It’s too bad he’s so ugly. I think that ruins it for him."

Adds the singer honestly, “He’s very smart. He’s very talented. He’s just really, really good at what he does."

After the movie is out, McGraw is back at the microphone. Find him at the 2015 Taste of Country Music Festival and Country Jam this summer!

Sam Alex is the host of Taste of Country Nights radio, a syndicated night show which airs on more than 60 Townsquare Media Group stations nationwide.
