Tim McGraw is gearing up for a busy festival season this summer. In a recent interview with his record label, Big Machine Label Group, the "Humble and Kind" singer says one thing he loves most about festivals is the energy.

"The energy, of course the atmosphere and it’s just really a lot of fun," he says. "Anytime you get this many people in a place, and they hear a lot of different music and a lot of different artists, and for me, I love that. I love the energy of different music and people just sort of appreciating what we do."

McGraw will headline WE Fest in Detroit Lakes, Minn., on Aug. 6. Just one of several festival dates, McGraw has also been announced on the lineup of Tree Town Music Festival, Carolina Country Music Festival, LakeShake Fest, Kicker Country Stampede, Summerfest and Common Ground Music Festival, among other tour dates in between.

His current single is the touching "Humble and Kind," which McGraw has said struck him deeply upon first hearing it while thinking of his daughters. Songwriter Lori McKenna wrote the song, and shared with shared with Taste of Country her amazement at McGraw's adaptation of it.

"I sent it to him, and the fact that it worked out in the end still kind of amazes me," she confesses. "Faith and Tim with their kids and me and my husband with our kids, we’re in the same little world of sending your kids off. So it just sort of hit him the way it hit me, and then the way he sings it is just — I feel like he wrote the song with me, the way he sings it.”
